Recently came across an issue with excel cell protection. Our company (actually just me) had created customized auto-fill Bill of Lading but this was years ago. I had mad a duplicate form that would autofill 2nd form. Problem we encountered years later is that we wanted to update the form however I had long since lost the password to the protected cells. Without it I feared I would have to recreate the entire excell sheet. However, a quick google search proved there were more plenty of password forgetters out their in internet-land. Apparently it is quite easy to crack a password protected excell sheet.
Here is one I used:
To access indivdual cell protection go to: Tools » Protection

Once again, our office computers were being hacked by spyware and it seemed pretty robust this time. The spyware knocked out Command Prompt, Alt-Ctl-Del, Restore and Control panel access. The steps I took to demolish this most recent infection were very simple.
Second, Run it.
Easy as pie.
Cheers & Goodluck,

Is your internet browser redirecting to random sites?
This is a pretty common problem for firefox and IE. Some simple steps can be taken to fix the issue.
1st – Run Malware Detection Software
Some of the more popular removal programs:
http://www.combofix.org/
http://www.superantispyware.com/
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
2nd – Clear Java Cache
Go to Start » Control Panel and double click Java Icon. Click General tab and click setting under Temporary Internet Files. Click Delete Files then click “OK” when pop-up window appears.
3rd-Flush Firefox Cache
Open Firefox. Click Tools » Options. Select Privacy and click Clear Now in Private Data section.
4th – Flush IE Cache
Go to Start » Control and double click Internet Options. Click Delete Files located in General Tab. Select Delete All Offline Content in the pop-up box then select OK.
5th – Flush DNS Cache
Go to Start » Run. Type CMD. In Command Prompt box type: ipconfig/flushdns Then press enter. Exit command window.
If this does not solve your issue then you will have to follow the Steps for DNS Poisoning and GooredFix for more intense redirection problems. Go to this MajorGeeks thread.
Good Luck!

AT&T Users get connection timed out, or other errors when visiting websites?
This can be caused by AT&T blocking the ip/server you are trying to access. I experienced this first hand. AT&T admitted that they blocked the address for possible policy violations. However, nothing had changed on my server. All 41 of my websites were not accessible to AT&T customers. This was isolated to only AT&T customers, Comcast customers were still allowed to my sites. After hours on the phone with both with GoDaddy (my hosting provider) and AT&T it was finally resolved by removing what AT&T calls “IP Blackhole”. This appeared to be a glitch with AT&T and had nothing to do with GoDaddy’s server or hosting service. In the end AT&T referred me to the following support form:
http://attis-dns.sbcglobal.net/
They also instructed me to contact GoDaddy and have them email AT&T to have the server removed from the “Blackhole”
Blackhole removal email address:
netsec@att.net
Good Luck!

Finding the new location of QB company file?
The new default location is at:
C:\DocumentsandSettings\AllUsers\SharedDocuments\Intuit\QuickBooks\
This can be easily changed at login, just simply choose the QBC file from another location, like shared folder on other computer/server then QB should save the last location opened.
That’s it!

My computer is infected, but Malwarebytes is not finding the spyware/malware??
If you are having trouble with spyware and malware and are using Malwarebytes, make sure that you that you update the spyware database. Often times spyware and malware (malicious spyware) changes and without updating your database, you are left with all the old vacines.

That’s it, Now you are updated!! Now Run a FULL SCAN, and it should find the issue.

How do I transfer large files? How do I remotely connect?
It always happens, you send an email and it gets rejected for being to large. Instead of trying to send large files through two different email servers try using the following free programs.

That’s it. Send Large Files Instantly.

Internet Security 2010 is a common Malware/Spyware that installs itself automatically
on your personal computer. The program manages to disable task manager and begins to launch “windows-like” pop-ups that warn that your computer is infected with spyware. These types of malware are also known as “rogue anti-spyware” programs because they act as anti-spyware programs, tricking the user into purchasing unnecessary software. There are several sites that offer manual step by step instructions on how to remove this threat:
I highly reccomend downloading and running the follwoing program, to remove the IS2010.exe spyware/malware automatically:
Best of luck!

How do you create the website icon that shows up next to the url address bar?
The icon that you see next to the address bar or in each web browser tab that is associated with the particular webpage is actually an icon file located in the main directory of webserver. To create one of these icons you will need to install a .ICO plugin for photoshop. Here is how:
2.) Move the plugin into the “File Formats” folder inside your Photoshop Plugins folder

Common Location: Program Files>Photoshop>Plug-ins>File Formats
3.)If Photoshop is already running, close and reopen.
4.) Create a new document that is 32 x 32 pixels (72/ppi). Create your graphic.
5.) Save your new icon in the parent directory of your webpage. Save files as favicon.ico
6.) Upload your icon to the server, and your done!
